If your AMD driver did not install, do so now. If you run into problems, just double click it and press the "rollback driver" button. The one exception I ran into was the "Intel(R) Management Engine Interface #1". Once I updated that particular driver, it disappeared from that menu and appeared in the system devices menu. Even the ones not in the system devices menu (that one just has the most that need updating).

I think it was called UMBus? I can't recall 100%. There was one driver that wasn't in the "System devices" menu. Update the one that isn't AMD.Īlso update any unknown drivers that have yellow exclamation points on them. This is located under "Sound, video and game controllers". You also want to update drivers for your sound. Make sure "Include Subfolders" is selected. Select "update driver", and point it to the WindowsSupport Folder as referenced in the video. Now we have a few steps to complete that are somewhat tedious.įirst we need to go into the device manager and update all the system drivers. Whatever it does seems to help more than using the latest version of Windows 10.

Just bypass it by holding down alt when powering up and the Bootcamp menu will appear and let you boot into windows. To find out whether your Mac uses this method, see the Learn more section in the Apple Support article Install Windows 10 on your Mac with Boot Camp Assistant. Newer Mac computers use a streamlined method to install Windows on your Mac. Some people are getting tripped up on the 'disable secure boot' portion, don't worry about this if you are (you only see a way to add a password). You can use Boot Camp Assistant to install Windows 10 on your Intel-based Mac.

I was running into the same issue that everyone seems to be running into when installing on an external drive, where the bootcamp drivers don't install, or they freeze at some point, or they pause forever at 'enumerating' and then fly through the install, but don't install anything. So I've been messing around with installing bootcamp on an external drive for the better part of a week now.
